5. Sperm Whale Brazilian Marble on a Granite Base Both the weight and the wonder of a breaching whale are captured in this sculpture. Reduced to a mere apostrophe shape which turns in space, somehow through the skill of the artist, nothing of the majesty of the great animal is compromised. The naturalistic handling of the base contributes to the seaside feeling of the work creating a setting for the experience. |

4. “Untitled” Reclining Female Form Wood on Granite Base The glorification of the female figure was a focus for much of Mr. Fields work. This graceful figure balances on a large rocking shape as if lifting herself in a long luxurious stretch. It is another example of a beautifully delineated figure created with a minimum of descriptive form for which the artist was well known. The warmth of the wood and smooth surface gives added life to the figure. |

6. “Untitled” Standing Figure Wood The essence of the figure is reduced to its most basic monolithic form in the piece. A warm wood piece standing 6’ tall, the figure derives its power from the imposing vertical presence of the sculpture. Also a piece of history, this work is sculpted from a beam from the Belknap Building. |
