Basic Operating Principles and Philosophies

Rick Wardlow formed the company in 1998. At that time he set forth four simple, fundamental principles to serve as the foundation for building and operating Wardlow Auctions Inc. Those principles are:

  1. Conduct every auction in a legal, ethical and professional manner, with no exceptions.
  2. Conduct every auction as if it were a job interview for a future auction.
  3. Always put your client’s objectives and needs first in guiding your decisions.
  4. From the standpoint of advertising, preparing for, and conducting the auction, treat every client’s property as if it were our own property.

These principles are like an oath of office and must be supported and adhered to by all staff members.

Ability To Provide Online Auctions

Management and staff at Wardlow Auctions Inc. recognize that changes in lifestyles, technology, the marketplace, and the economy affect the way people do business. Therefore a business must adapt and change the way it operates if it is to properly and effectively serve its clients and customers.

That is why, in 2007, Wardlow Auctions Inc. began offering online-only internet auctions of personal property. That transition was so successful that in 2011 Wardlow Auctions expanded their online auction service to include real estate. With the rapid growth of online e-commerce and the gains in internet marketing Wardlow Auctions saw an increase in bidder participation in terms of both numbers and geographical distribution of bidders which contributed to more favorable prices. As a result Wardlow Auctions has conducted all of their personal property and real estate exclusively online since 2015. In 2018 Wardlow Auctions Inc. upgraded to a more advanced online bidding platform the comes with a free app in order to create a more professional presentation for their clients' auction items and a more professional and mobile-capable bidding experience for their customers.

Real Estate Auction Experience

From January 1998 to January 2022 Wardlow Auctions Inc. has successfully auctioned and sold approximately 428 residential, commercial, and agriculture real estate properties totaling $55.7 million. Through judicious screening of all auction candidates and effective marketing efforts of those properties chosen for auction, Wardlow Auctions Inc. obtained sales contracts on 91.5% of all properties auctioned. Those properties that did not sell were usually due to the seller’s establishment of minimum sale price higher than what could be attained from the potential marketplace of buyers. Furthermore, Wardlow Auctions Inc. has successfully closed 98.5% of all properties on which sales contracts were received.

Personal Property Auction Experience

From January 2000 to January 2022 Wardlow Auctions Inc. conducted 430 personal property auctions totaling $11.2 million. Types of auctions conducted included antiques and household items; vehicles including cars, boats, and motorcycles; commercial equipment including restaurant, office, woodworking and merchandising.

Typically over half of the auctions we do are to assist families with settling estates and living estates (a living estate is usually someone who is moving out of state or downsizing to a patio home, condo, or assisted living facility). We have also conducted several small and larger business downsizing and liquidation auctions.

Benefit Auctions

In addition to its regular auction business, Wardlow Auctions Inc. actively supports numerous charity, school, health, religious and civic organizations by assisting them with the auction portion of their fund raising events. Since the year 2000 Wardlow Auctions has assisted over 160 different organizations, conducted over 700 benefit auctions, and helped to raise over $22.1 million for these organizations.
