Full Time Team Member

Position Overview

  • Location: Varies by the auction site, typically in Louisville, East Louisville, and Oldham County.
  • Schedule: Flexible hours, generally Monday through Friday, 8:30-4:30, with occasional pickups extending until 6 p.m. and 1-2 Sundays a month for Open House events (flat daily rate).
  • Pay and Benefits: Negotiable based on experience, ranging from $15 - $16 per hour. 30+ hours per week qualifies for health insurance, paid holidays, and paid time off.

Key Responsibilities

Cataloger:

  • Accurately and efficiently input item descriptions into the computer using Excel, Google Sheets, or our auction software.
  • Ideal candidates will have some experience or a desire to learn about antiques, collectibles, etc.
  • The ability to bring a computer to the job site is advantageous, but we can provide one if needed.

Photographer:

  • Capture clean and clear photos of auction items efficiently.
  • Lots average 6 shots per lot, with varying requirements for higher and lower value items.
  • Experience with point-and-shoot or DSLR cameras is preferred; we provide the camera.
  • Focus on accurately depicting items, keeping in mind what potential buyers would want to see.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • Team-oriented with a strong attention to detail.
  • Reliable and able to take initiative.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Excel and general computer skills.
  • Experience with point-and-shoot or DSLR cameras, including post-production editing.
  • Ability to prioritize, plan, and multitask in a time-sensitive environment.
  • Personable in customer or client-facing situations.
  • Able to lift up to 25 pounds.

Pickup and/or Open House Staff

Position Overview

Location: Varies by the auction site, typically in Louisville, East Louisville, and Oldham County.
Schedule: Pickups occur between 1-4 times per week depending on our auction schedule. The hours in which they occur can range between 9am-6pm, with typically a 5-7 hour work day. Open houses are typically Sunday afternoons (some exceptions have occurred.) 
Pay: $15 per hour

Key Responsibilities

Pickups:

  • Arrive before the pickup hours to prepare for the day with guidance from the auctioneer or site manager.
  • Greet each customer and review their invoice to determine items and their locations.
  • Take the customer to their items or bring the items to them. (We do not help load out large items, but from time to time may assist grabbing a few things with them to expedite the process.)
  • Carefully oversee the house to prevent theft and damage from occurring during the pickup process.

Open Houses:

  • Stand in the assigned area and greet customers.
  • Watch over the items to prevent theft or lot mixing.
  • Answer customers' questions about items, the bidding process, auction terms.

Reliable and able to take initiative.
Excellent verbal communication skills.
Ability to multitask in a time-sensitive environment.
Personable in customer or client-facing situations.
Able to lift up to 25 pounds and use stairs multiple times a day.
